Palace of the Silver Princess: Part 5 (The Reception)
DM In the great hall of the castle in Harren a gathering of nearly two hundred guests was arranged to celebrate the wedding of Princess Argenta and Captain Ellis. The party of adventurers was invited along with many of the local gentry. A list of the most important guests (with notes) here follows:

Argenta, Princess of Harren
The rank of princess is honorary and she is politically subordinate to the Baron of Biazzan. This is because Harren is a small political entity inside the Barony. The Barony itself is one of the semi-independent regions of the Thyatian mainland. Argenta is of Ylari descent rather than Thyatian, which is no surprise given that Biazzan borders Ylaruam to the North. She is dark and beautiful with large brown eyes. She attends the gathering in a striking silver dress with a curved silver necklace and matching anklet.

Ellis (the Strong), Commander of the Order of the White Drake, Captain in the Retebius Air Fleet (Retired)
The Retebius Air Fleet is a branch of the Thyatian military that specialises in air combat. The members all ride flying steeds. The Order of the White Drake, understandably, uses White Drakes and Ellis was, until recently, their commander. He has now retired to take up his position as Prince of Harren. He is tall and commanding and always stands near Argenta. He seems fairly cool but is clearly a friend of Helen Ledamiades. He wears the uniform of the Thyatian military and a number of medals.

Mirabilis, Court Mage of Harren
A very loud and rather strange old mage. He wears blue and silver robes. Curiously the patterns on the robes change every now and then.

Silverheart, Court Alchemist
Silverheart is a middle-aged man with dark hair and a slightly panicked look. He is wearing good Thyatian clothes but nothing remarkable.

Eusebius Torion, Prince of Thyatis
In this case the rank of Prince is anything but honorary. Eusebius is the emperor's representative and also his eldest son. He is aloof and cold, although a moment listening to his conversation proves that he is quite bright. He seems to be finding Harren rather provincial. He wears the uniform of a Thyatian general and a purple cloak (the Imperial colour). There is a picture of an eagle worked into the cloak.

Tredorian, a noble
Tredorian is a good-looking young man of about twenty-five. He is pale skinned with long dark hair. For some reason he is always a step behind Eusebius. He wears good quality clothing with a picture of a horse with a man's face and a beard embroidered onto the breast.

Helen Ledamiades, a Thyatian Lady
Helen is well known in Harren as the woman who introduced Argenta and Ellis. Helen looks like a fun girl to be around, although maybe a little too fun. She is renowned as the ringleader of the decadent set in Thyatian nobility. Helen glides everywhere, smiling sweetly. She is blonde, buxom and startlingly beautiful. She wears golden sunburst earrings, a dress embroidered with roses and a pair of shoes that appear to be crystal.

Abdul Al-Hazred, Ylari ambassador to Thyatis
Dark and quiet, Abdul is there in his capacity as Argenta's uncle, rather than for any official reason. He wears the robes of an Alaysian and, from a distance, is almost indistinguishable from Habib.

Baron Babrak, Baron of Biazzan
Babrak is also part Ylari and it shows in his complexion. He is polite and clearly has a fondness for the trappings of an Alaysian nomad, although an eagle motif appears prominently on his clothes.

The events of the evening are not wholly clear although it's known that Berillia was seen being fed a small, orange fruit by Helen, who was seen leaving the hall with Narond. Shianara was spotted chatting to Mirabilis and Habib was deep in conversation with both of the Alaysians. Leanna seemed to hit it off with Tredorian and Dreylin talked mostly with Argenta.

As the evening draws to a close, all the guests head out to the balcony to watch the fireworks. Silverheart sets them off and then settles back to hear the applause. There's quite a lot of it. For you poor provincial Darokin/Alfheim/Ylaruam folk they're good fireworks. (For Dreylin they're about average, the Shires like fireworks).

The music winds down and the slaves enter and begin to clean up. Ellis and Argenta head towards the bed-chamber and encourage all present to do likewise. In a mild haze (stronger than mild for some of you) you wander gently to your rooms. For those of you awake enough to notice, Narond and Helen head off to a party of their own.
